The CRF300L Race Tech Pro Suspension Package combines three complementary upgrades: a custom-built G3-S rear shock, a fork spring kit and a Gold Valve fork kit. It is our all-Race-Tech package for riders who want to address front and rear spring support and damping together.

The G3-S is a major reason to choose this route. Its spring selection and internal valving are specified around the rider information supplied with the order. At the front, the spring and Gold Valve components give your installer a way to improve support and configure the damping in your existing forks.

At CRF's Only, we bring those components into one package and help you choose the application and configuration for your build. Here is what you receive, how the parts work together and what to plan before ordering.

What comes in the CRF300L Race Tech Pro Package?

The package addresses both ends of the motorcycle. Each component has a distinct role:

Three components, one front-and-rear upgrade plan
Included componentWhat it changesInstallation scope
Race Tech G3-S rear shockReplaces the original shock with a unit built using rider-specific spring and valving selections.Install the complete shock, then establish sag and starting settings.
Race Tech High Performance Fork Spring KitAdds a spring to the left damping leg while retaining the original right-leg spring.Fit the spring and adapter components inside the existing fork.
Race Tech Gold Valve Fork KitUpgrades the internal fork valving for configured compression and rebound damping.Disassemble and revalve the damping components using the applicable Race Tech setup information.

Your original fork assemblies remain on the bike. This package supplies the internal fork upgrades and a replacement rear shock. Complete replacement forks and installation labor are separate from the listed package.

The standard CRF300L package is CO-300L-RTPR. The CRF300L Rally package is CO-300LR-RTPR. Both have dedicated listings for 2021–2027; select the one for your exact model.

How the Race Tech fork upgrades work together

Spring support and damping solve different parts of the suspension problem. The spring supports the load and influences how far the fork compresses. Damping controls movement as the fork compresses and extends. Addressing both gives the installer more scope to build a useful setup.

The spring kit adds support in the damping leg

The CRF300L's original fork arrangement separates the main spring and damping functions between the legs. Race Tech's FRSP 3951KC fork spring kit adds a spring and the required adapter components to the left damping leg. The original spring stays in the right leg.

The selected Race Tech rate describes the added spring. The total fork spring rate reflects both springs working together. That distinction matters when comparing this kit with a single replacement spring from another product family.

For a rider who finds the original fork poorly supported under normal load or braking, suitable spring support is a useful foundation. Simply adding more spring, however, does not address how the fork controls that movement.

The Gold Valve kit addresses the damping

The FMGV 2002C Gold Valve fork kit provides the internal valving upgrade. Race Tech's Digital Valving Search, or DVS, supplies setup information based on the application and rider inputs. Your installer uses the appropriate settings during assembly.

This is why the fork work deserves the same attention as the shock order. The package contains parts for a configured fork build; the fork damping is established during installation. The spring-only fitting procedure does not describe all the work required to install the Gold Valve kit.

The Gold Valve kit does not add external compression or rebound clickers to the original fork caps. If external fork adjustment is a priority, compare the cartridge-conversion route in our CRF300L Suspension Upgrade Guide before choosing your package.

Why the custom G3-S shock is central to the Pro Package

Race Tech builds the G3-S to order, selecting the spring and configuring the internal valving for the rider's size, ability and type of riding. Those inputs shape the shock's starting specification before it reaches the bike.

A rider carrying travel luggage over rough roads may need a different setup from a rider traveling light on local trails. Describe your normal use accurately, including the loads that change. A custom build is most useful when the information behind it reflects the riding you will actually do.

Base shock versus optional remote reservoir

Choose the adjustment options you want
G3-S configurationExternal controlsReason to consider it
Internal-reservoir configurationSpring preload and rebound adjustment; no external compression adjustment.A rider-specific shock with fewer external settings to manage.
Optional remote reservoirAdds external compression adjustment to the shock configuration.Additional tuning scope when you want to adjust compression response for your riding.

The remote reservoir is an optional purchase on both package listings. You can order the custom G3-S without it. Choose the option before the build begins and have the installer plan suitable mounting and hose routing.

Use the setup information supplied for your finished shock. A click count from a K-Tech unit or another rider's G3-S is not a substitute for the baseline specified for your build.

Who should consider the Race Tech Pro Package?

This package is a strong option when both ends need attention and a custom-specified rear shock is a priority. Relevant goals include better support under the rider and luggage, more controlled movement over rough ground and a better-balanced response between the fork and shock.

  • Regular trail riders: you want the front and rear configured for the terrain and pace you ride.
  • Dual-sport travelers: your normal load includes tools, water or luggage that should be part of the setup discussion.
  • Mixed road-and-dirt riders: you want a build that reflects the proportion and type of each.
  • Riders whose stock setup lacks support or control: you have identified recurring problems after checking condition, tires and load.

You do not need expert-level riding skills to order the package. The order information includes skill levels from beginner through expert, allowing the build to reflect your experience as well as your weight and use.

When a smaller upgrade makes more sense

If your forks already have suitable springs and valving, a G3-S shock on its own may complete the build. If only spring support needs attention, a targeted spring upgrade can be a sensible first step. Start with the parts already installed so you avoid buying overlapping upgrades.

The closest package comparison is our CRF's Only Complete Suspension Package, which pairs Race Tech fork spring and Gold Valve components with a K-Tech Razor-R Lite EVO shock. The Pro Package changes the rear-shock route to a rider-specific G3-S build, with the optional remote reservoir available.

What about the updated 2025 stock suspension?

Honda revised the CRF300L's fork and shock damping for 2025, including firmer rear damping for bottoming resistance. Evaluate the bike you own instead of assuming every model year behaves identically. The reason to upgrade remains your load, riding needs and the support or control you want to improve.

Specify the order around your bike and riding

Choose the standard CRF300L package or CRF300L Rally package, then supply the rider information requested. Include:

  1. Exact motorcycle: year, model, market and existing suspension or lowering changes. Contact us about an LS model or altered chassis before ordering.
  2. Rider weight without gear: this is the weight basis requested on the package listings.
  3. Skill level: beginner, novice, intermediate or expert.
  4. Riding split: your approximate percentage of off-road and on-road riding.
  5. Additional load and terrain: describe riding gear, normal luggage, occasional heavier trips and the surfaces you ride.
  6. Reservoir choice: select whether you want the optional remote reservoir.

Keep gear and luggage information separate from the requested weight-without-gear figure. When it is time to measure sag, use your actual geared riding load. Those are different inputs for different stages of the process.

Compare the full installed cost: the package, your selected options, fork labor, oil, any service parts needed and final setup. Current pricing is on each product page.

Plan the installation and first setup

Arrange the Gold Valve work with a qualified suspension technician. It involves internal fork work, correct assembly and the applicable valving specification. The complete rear shock arrives as its own assembly, while the fork components still need to be installed and configured.

Give your installer the same rider and use information supplied with the order. Have worn seals, bushings or linkage components addressed as needed. Correct assembly and good mechanical condition are part of getting a useful result from the new parts.

After installation, establish sag with the actual riding load, record the supplied shock settings and evaluate the bike on familiar terrain. Recheck when the load changes. Our CRF300L Off-Road Suspension Setup Guide explains the measurement and testing process.
