CRF450L / CRF450RL fitment: 2019-2027
All five linked listings cover the 2019-2027 CRF450L / CRF450RL family. The 3.0-gallon option fits the listed family too; it is not restricted to the earlier model designation. Confirm your exact year in the product's fitment selector.
Motorcycle fitment is only the first check. An aftermarket seat, radiator brace, relocated electrical component or other nearby accessory may affect clearance. Give us the accessory's brand and model, plus photos if helpful, so we can assess the combination.
Use the dedicated links above when ordering. A general CRF450 search can return parts for other applications, and compatibility with this model family does not establish fitment for every CRF450.
What does the screw-cap tank price include?
The current IMS instructions identify the tank, an IMS screw cap and cap seal, and the tank-specific mounting kit. They also specify an included pump O-ring for transferring the OEM EFI fuel-pump assembly.
The original pump is reused with the prescribed seal and hardware arrangement. A new fuel pump is not included in these kits. Check your existing components during installation and address any condition issues separately.
Dry-break equipment is a separate purchase decision
The prices above describe screw-cap configurations. IMS dry-break versions require compatible refueling equipment, with the receiver sold separately. The 3.0-gallon dry-break version also excludes the screw-cap adapter. Ask us to confirm the complete configuration and price if you need dry-break refueling.
Plan the total installed cost
Allow for the work and any additional parts your particular bike needs:
- Installation labor: ask your installer to quote the exact tank. The job includes OEM pump transfer, mounting changes, vent routing, clearance checks and leak checks.
- Shroud modifications: IMS specifies left-shroud trimming for the 3.0-gallon tank and removal of designated inner stand-offs on both shrouds for the 4.5- and 5.7-gallon tanks. If you want to preserve untouched original plastics, budget for a separate set of shrouds.
- Accessory changes: resolve any seat, brace or other clearance concern before purchasing additional parts. A larger tank does not automatically require a replacement seat.
- Delivery: the featured oversized-tank listings exclude express shipping and PO-box delivery. Confirm shipping options and charges for your address.
Use the instructions supplied with your exact tank and kit revision. The mounting hardware differs between capacities; a generic tank-swap procedure does not cover those differences. IMS recommends professional installation.
What to confirm before placing your order
Send CRF's Only your model year, preferred tank capacity and color, intended competition use, existing accessories and required installation date. We can help narrow the configuration and check current timing.
Confirm the selected part number, kit contents, availability, delivery options and applicable order terms together. If you are scheduling around an event, establish those details before dismantling the bike.

Oversized fuel tank buying questions
Does the tank price include a replacement fuel pump?
No. These IMS kits reuse the OEM EFI pump assembly with the specified IMS seal and hardware.
Is the most expensive tank automatically the best choice?
Choose around usable fuel, the load you want to carry and installation requirements. The 5.7-gallon tank's wing-fuel limitation is especially important when planning refueling.
Do Black and Natural have different prices?
At the October 22, 2026 check, Black and Natural were equally priced within the 3.0-gallon pair and within the 4.5-gallon pair. Availability can differ by color.
Can I order one of these tanks for street use?
The featured products are restricted to closed-course racing use and are not legal for street or highway use.
