The fit and finish are very nice on the Flatland Skid plate, instructions were easy to read and the install went well. Looks like it will afford good protection.....the one "flaw" in this otherwise worthy products is the inability to remove the engine oil filter & cover without completly removing the skid plate. This is way too much work as often as we have to change the oil on the 450X. I cut away a portion of the left side so I now have the space needed to remove the oil filer assembly w/o having to R&R the skid plate each time I service the bike......seems Flatland could have forseen this and altered the design to accomodate oil filter removal.
My modification took about 30 minutes - and you want to be sure and measure/mark your cut with the skid plate installed - so you only remove what is necessary and leave as much protection remaining as possible.

The fit was fair lower clamps did not quite snug up flush to the skid plate. I recommend using loctite on all the bolts,but seems ok for the price.
