CRF230F - Power UP Jet Kit
Description
CRF's Only has put together this "Power Up Jet Kit" using genuine Honda needle and jets. Don't be fooled by less expensive kits that only include the Power Up needle. The needle requires this jetting to work properly. Works for all model years of the CRF230F.
Optional but highly recommended is the CRF's Only Fuel Screw.
Kit includes:
- Power Up Needle
- #132 Main Jet
- #135 Main Jet
- #45 Pilot Jet
NOTE: Do we really need to say the CRF230F pictured is not included in the jet kit? Ok, considered it said.

This isn’t a review, but a question. I got a 2005 crf250f with a pro circuit exhaust. Does the kit come with instructions? I live in central California that is close to sea level. I would need what main out of the two in the kit to use and what notch on the needle? Please, I would like some info. Before I purchase.

Middle clip position - Larger of the two main jets. Two turns out on the fuel screw and adjust from there.

I installed the power up kit on a 2016 CRF230F last weekend and so far, I'm thrilled. MUCH better low end response --- actually it feels better across the entire power band. This is a great product, but it could be even better (read on). Some things to know before you buy: The kit comes without instructions --- nuthin'. I bought a service manual from Helm, Inc. I probably would still have a disassembled bike without the manual. There were also some good YouTube videos that were helpful as well.
The power up needle comes with a "needle jet", which is sometimes referred to as a "needle seat". This is in addition to the main jet and slow jet. The needle jet is basically press-fit into the carburetor body. It's essential to change the needle jet because the new needle has a radically different taper. The only way I was able to remove the needle jet was to go in thru the top of the carburetor once the slide was removed and gently tap it out with a wooden dowel. Figuring THAT out took a couple of hours.
The other tough part was reassembling the throttle drum and the return spring. If the spring is properly reinstalled, reinstalling the setting screw is EASY. If it's not easy, keep fiddling until the spring is properly reinstalled on the drum. This is important to prevent throttle binding after reassembly.
As I said --- this is a great product. Once I had it all reassembled, it started on the first attempt...not kidding. Really seems to run a lot better. It's louder with the exhaust baffle removed, but not too bad.

my crf 230f 2014 didn't run rite or idle properly and it ran way to hot.I installed the 132 main jet
a 48 piolet jet and the power up needle took the intake and exaust restrictors off and it started and idled properly rite away.[the 48 jet wasn't included in the kit though] Ilet my bike warm up and took it for a ride it ran great and it runs cooler now.To bad my bike didn't come with those jets and needle installed from the factory.
Thanks crfs only fast shipping to Canada 3 days !.

I can't believe how much better it is starting and running now!!!!! I did NOT remove the baffle, only the "snorkle". ALSO, I did not replace the needle, only the two jets which is easy cause you only remove the carb from the air and intake and tilt it, remove the bottom float, careful how it goes back together, then replace the Jets. The PILOT jet I screwed in fully, then out 5/8's (slightly more than half a turn).
The power band now extends for the FULL throttle!!!! and again, I am running the stock muffler, but it is December 21 and cold as hell. I will see how it runs in the summer months. I have the stock air filter in too!
It warms up much faster too. :)

Took me about 60 minutes to install this... and combined with removing the exaust baffle and airbox intake snorkel, there is a noticeable increase in bottom and top end power.
Well worth the price of this. Kit comes with no instructions, so you will have to find them on the internet. I recommend this;

just installed the power up kit in my 2007 CRF 230 F. What a great item... power is up by 25% to 30% over the stock set up. I removed the restrictive air intake cover and removed the baffle. Bike is being run at 1300 feet in the 40 Degree temp range.

why dont you ship any directions with the power up kit? not every one is an mmi graduate!the kit works fine, just hard to put in and no instuctions on the adjustment of the fuel screw with kit installed

this kit gives quite a noticeable difference in power. The only thing was that it was hard to reattach the throttle drum to the swing arm i actually stripped the screw and had to get a new one. only negative is that after finishing, the throttle seems to be sticking and i have checked everything. and one last thing don't get the removal tool i'm not even sure that i got it i don't even know what it looks.
