This hydraulic brake light switch replaces the banjo bolt on the rear master cylinder. It allows you to add a brake light circuit for the rear brake. You will also need the DRC CRFX light. This is NOT a plug-n-play product as the CRF X models do not have a rear brake harness. You will have to build this brake light circuit using this product, the DRC CRFX light, and your own wiring harness. If you are not familiar with this type of work seek out a professional.

I'm ordering my third one the last two only work for a few months...I need the brake light. I hope this one lasts longer...I suspect corrosion.

Installed switch effortlessly, properly secured wiring, bled brakes, but did not connect to harness, but did check for continuity, every thing was great until three weeks later, when finally connected to wiring, switch did not work, all wires test good. Very dissatisfied with this product, Will not recommend.

All this product does is provide a switch to complete an electrical circuit. There is no existing harness to connect this switch to as the CRF250X and CRF450X are not set up electrically for a brake light. If you bypass the switch the brake light should light if your electrical wiring is good. Easy to test this by bypassing the switch. If the brake light doesn\'t light up when bypassing the switch you have a problem in your wiring not the switch. Again, you have to be familiar with electrical systems to properly install this product.

worked for a few months then worked intermittently now it doesn\'t work. In my testing I have found that when the switch is closed by the pressure created by pressing the brake, the circuit closes but the conductivity isn\'t sufficient to activate the transistor in my led brake light circuitry.

Several factors, other than a faulty switch, can create this situation. For example, air in the brake line, any debris in the brake line or switch, faulty wiring and corroded connections to name a few. Combinations of these factors are often the culprit.
