    Fuel Pump Running Constantly?

    by hondooey » Fri Jul 29, 2016 9:05 am

    Hi all,

Just installed a box of goodies from crf's only including the rear tail light, led indicators, and the flasher relay.

After I buttoned everything up, I noticed that the fuel pump was running the entire time the motor was running.

It starts and stops several seconds after turning the key into ON but constantly runs when the motor is on.

I don't think I noticed before but I just want to confirm this is normal operation. It would be very odd if changing the lights had anything to do with that but i've found weirder things when I get the tools out.

    Thanks!

If the fuel pump is not running - you won't be either.

When the key is turned on the pump is priming - Once the engine is started it runs to supply the engine with fuel. Then it shuts off at the engines point of shutting down.

Ok perfect, that's what logic was telling me - thanks for the confirmation!
