    wiring acerbis DHH headlight..HELP!!!!

    by skylinegtr » Mon Aug 07, 2006 9:18 pm

I finally got my DHH twin bulber from acerbis today.

it looks great, but i have 1 problem

HOW DO I WIRE THIS THING UP?

it has 2 wires form each bulb.

the stock as you know, has 3 wires.

from what i have gathered so far, the stock headlight has a ground wire, low beam, and high beam.

so then the DHH has?? 2 wires per bulb. and 2 bulbs.

    i suck at electrical stuff.

anyone who has one, or knows anything, please let me know!!

    thanks!!!

No problem. The picture has two wires coming from each bulb just like yours.

Hook up the same wire from each bulb to ground.

Then hook up Low beam to white, split to switch.

Then high beam to yellow, split to switch.

the problem with that is this

on the stock X, the 3 wires on the stock light, go into a connector that turns to having just 2 wire. (blue and green)

by advice of someone from TT...

i cut the wires off the X headlight

i connected the inside wires form each bulb(form DHH) to the ground (white)

then the left side bulb to the green, right to the blue.

The third wire (white) coming from the OEM headlight does not connect to anything. It's the high beam wire. Yes, our bikes do have a high beam. If you look close at the filament in the stock OEM headlight bulb, it is a dual, low and high beams. The X's harness isn't wired for the high beam, thus the white wire is connected to nothing.

I use the DHH Acerbis unit as an alternate for onroad supermoto bling. Pictured is my bike in offroad guise. ~'s wiring diagram is correct for the dual bulb Acerbis.
