I change the engine oil in my 05 250x every 10 hrs. I add the recommended 690 cc and for some reason it never reaches a visible level on the dipstick. I can see the oil level with a flashlight and it is definitely lower than the dipstick. The bike runs great and I don't usually check the oil level because of the frequent oil changes but I'd love to know where it is going.

Few questions

Are you sure the bike is level when checking ?? , this could have a effect on the reading

Are you changing the filter ?? , if not , did you tilt the engine to the clutch side a little first to make sure the missing oil is not hiding in the filter area ??

Are you noticing the oil level dropping ??? , if so , check the transmission side to see if the oil is migrating to that side of the engine , it could be a right side crank seal leaking
