    250x differences

by Top Buzz » Tue Mar 29, 2016 1:11 am

Just wanted to find out if there were any major differences between the models over the years?

Reason I ask is I bought a 2014 250x and wanted to buy a megabomb system with the 4.1 exhaust and whenever I look at the ones for sale on ebay etc they list then for the 07-09 10-13 15-16 models ... ? I thought the x series parts were pretty interchangeable between models?

    Hey,

Going by FMF, all years use part number 041157 for the 4.1 slip on, and 041431 for the megabomb.
Not sure why e-bay listings are like that.

I have a 4.1 slip on with stock header on my X, super happy with it.

If you don't mind me asking, is your header damaged, if not, what other mods have you done, and what do you hope to get from the header ?
As the stock header isn't that bad.

Was told a full system made a big difference along with the airbox mod and the R cams.

I wasnt set on it being a FMF, had looked at the Dr.D and the Yoshi system too

Not sure if I'd go with big, talking about the header.

If you click on the link a little under my user name, you'll see all the mods I've done.

    On the motor side.
Slip on, air box, cam and jetting really do help.

I have the megabomb header on my R, as part of a full set up.
It's a cool bit of bling, if and when I damage my X stock header I "may" put one on the X, but the stock one isn't that bad imo so I'd (I have) save your money to start with.

    Edit:
    Also,
One of my mates I ride with has a stock X other than a full Yoshi system.
It added a better look, better sound a SA to ride in the trees and a dent in his bank account.
We all swap/try each others bikes all the time, mine runs rings around his. If you have the money go crazy, if not, I'd put the header money into another part that will give you a better bang for your buck.

We'll The main thing I'm after is a loud sweeet sound with an improvement in power and maybe weight reduction too. Happy to spend the money if it ticks the boxes, The pro circuit Ti 4 was another I was looking at altho a bit more pricey so if a Dr.D or Yoshi were just as good I'd have no probs going for 1 of them
