    Seat Swap?

    by bionicr30 » Tue Feb 16, 2016 3:16 pm

Currently I have a 2009 CRF250X and its a little tall for me, I'm more on my toes than flat footed. The seat part number is 77100-KSC-A30.

I'm looking at buying a used seat that is one inch lower with gel insert for a good price, but its from a 2004 CRF250X. The OEM seat part number for the 2004 is 77100-KSC-A11.

My question is, the part numbers aren't exact but very close except the last two numbers. Can I make this seat fit my bike without too much work or should I pass on this lowered seat?

    Thanks, Ryan

PM (Private Message) Ken , the owner of this site , if anyone knows , he should , as he sells OEM parts

As far as i know all the CRF250X seats are pretty much the same (not 100% sure , but they should all bolt up and fit each year), and the part number change could be because of a gas tank size change in 08 which would have changed the angle of the tank slightly (2.3 Gal. to 1.9 Gal.) , necessitating a minor seat pan angle change (very minor to accommodate the smaller tank , but it should be able to fit prior to and after the change (not 100% sure if this is the case , but i think it is) , but Ken should be able to tell you for sure

I do have the seat you are looking for on a 2004 seat pan. The pan is fairly flexible and may accommodate a small angle change. This seat does give you a significant reduction in seat height, if that's what you are looking for.
