CRF 250 X idles very high, cuts out

I read all the forum comments about CRF250x's that idle high and cut out.Adjusting of the throttle position screw did not help, either it idled too high or just cut out. it made technical riding just impossible.

I tried everything. Cleaned and rejetted carb, checked valve clearances, checked timing. Rejetted carb.To put it shortly, I became a pro at removing the carb.

After lots of frustration, swearing and thinking of selling it, a friend suggested that I must cut all of the cable-ties off that were keeping the throttle cables neat and in place.

Problem solved. Sometimes the simplest thing makes the most difference. :D =D>

Glad you figured it out :D , i am assuming that the cable ties you cut were not from the factory ??? , since the routing of the cables and the reusable zip ties that Honda uses , should not bind any cables , as long as they were not tightened down too much , the ties are meant to hold the cables in place and nothing more , not to hold them tightly , the cables always need to be free to move around so they do not bind like yours did ;)
