    Tire

    by turbo250x » Tue Dec 30, 2008 7:38 am

Wat kind of bike do you have. Wat size and brand rear tire are you running. Where do you ride. How do you like it?

I ride an 05 250x with a 100/100/18 pirelli scorpion mx. I ride eastern woodes single track and also a good bit of hard pack. This tire is crap for what I do. lol

I ride tight trails (national forest) with a small MX track for fun. All types of soils and hard pack..I have the Dunlop 756's on both. They do fairly well but it is time to replace them. I think I will be keeping the 756 on front but going to a Michelin S-12 on the rear...

    Front 80/100-21
    Rear 100/100-18

I ride rocky mountain woods trails, with a mix of street riding to get me there. I have the Pirelli scorpion XCMH front and the Maxxis Desert IT rear 110/100 18. I have liked both tires so far and wear on the rear has been good (~800+ miles so far with some life left).

i ride rocky single track, quad trails, and open desert. 742 front (i know it sucks), dunlop 952 110/90 rear. i like the 952 for single track. its a little soft, wears pretty quick but performance outweighs longevity. oh, 2006 250x.

After a flat and a torn tire, I ended up replacing the OEM front with a Dunlop 952 front tire. Hopefully its a better replacement for my mid south woods/trail riding and minor MX track playtime. I would like to replace my rear 756 with the 952 at some point in time. Does anyone have any experience with the 952 on the front and back vs the 756's?

Use Michellen S 12's front and rear

    Ride gravel, sand, loamy clay

IMHO these are the best all round tire - very predictible even when worn.

They hang on well and when you go past their traction limits they slide predictibly and don't just let go like some I have experienced.
