Instructions for changing a leak jet

    by vaiana » Wed Mar 14, 2007 11:12 am

I'm about to put a pro circuit T-4 slip on pipe on my crf250X 2005. They recommend rejetting which I'm going to do 158 main, 42 pilot, NCYU needle (pos. 4), 55 on the leak jet and 2 1/4 turns out on the CRF'S only fuel screw. I have the Honda service manual, but I'm still unclear on the procedure to change the leak jet. Does anyone have instructions with pics ????

I also plan to do the air box mod and a twin air powerflow air filter (removing backfire screen)

    Looking for Grin factor :D

    Thanks
    Michael

I would do the airbox mod right away... move the main jet up to a 162-165 and leave the leak alone. With that pipe on there, and those mods, the bike is going to rip.

    Michael,
what is your stock leak jet? If I remember right, mine was/still is a 55.

If you need to replace it, you have to remove the float bowl. It actually threads into the bottom of the float bowl itself (looking from the inside). But I'm with VH -- I'd try the stock leak jet with the setup you're planning to run with... which should be a 55, I think.

    Hey Van.
    She's doing real good thanks.
I think she's got a pretty big case of cabin fever, though. She's used to a good size back yard, which I plain just don't have in my townhouse. I have to make it a point to get her out to run more... you know how Labs almost have to run or they go stir crazy! I'm sure you know that drill.

How's Levi doing these days? Achin' to get out and shred some corners of his own? ;)

Levi is slowin' down... every now and again she has a 'burst' and people ask me how old my 'puppy' is.
    they are great...
