Open up the fuel screw more. Try 1/8 of a turn at a time.

I first changed the jets without getting the JD needle and had a hell of a time. Went with the JD needle and a CRF/FS and it seemed to make all the difference in the world...

I'm running the JD kit also and I couldn't agree more.

It's the best $ 64.00 I've ever spent. That needle just makes the difference.

And the CRF's Only fuel screw makes adjustments quick and easy.

It was a lot of your advise that sent me in that direction also. After spending hours upon hours trying to come up with a better solution I picked up kit from JD and never looked back... Well, I only looked back to see where my buds were. 8)

Tried to start it again today no go
opened the fuel screw out 3 turns still nothing ](*,)

ended up turning the fuel screw back to 2 turns and start it now by giving it a couple of twists with the throttle to pump some fuel through and she fires up no problem

will the jd kit cure this problem :?:

FWIW I give my throttle about three whacks to make starting easier when it is cold. That's not an uncommon issue. The JD kit has main jets and that special tapered needle, but that is all about mid to high speed. It doesn't help at the slow speed level, except for the 0-ring mod. That will give you a quicker shot of fuel when you whack the throttle. That's why it helps eliminate the throttle bog.

If you continue to see issues, you might try stepping the pilot up one size to a 45. Be sure to re-work the fuel screw if you do that.

I don't know if the JD kit will affect this issue. Doubt it.

Its not so much a problem as it is a procedure.

    How we start our bikes.

    1) turn on fuel at petcock

    2) open choke

    3) twist throttle rapidly 3 times

    4) hit the happy button

    they start every time.

yeh that works for me :)

Just never had this sort of problem with my KTM but then is was a 525 so a big slug of piston going up and down may not be as critical with jetting

you just pressed the button and held on ;) ;)
