The skinny on triple clamps

Hey guys, for those of you who ride more track than trail: I want to change the triple clamps this winter (for better turning on the track) but am unsure which to select. I don't want to change too drastically, and I see from Ken's inventory there is some choosing to be done.

What's closest to the 450 and/or 250R rake?
Looking to get rid of that front-end push tendency my X has, and want to decide on something soon and get it ordered. Tear-down season is alive and well in the North East. It's just gettin too cold to ride.

Thanks in advance!

the stock offset (which will maintain the "rake") is 24mm for all 450/250 R and X models. moving the offset in, 22mm or 20mm, will increase the turning responsiveness. most with an X are happy with 22mm while some go even further with 20mm.

Ken thanks. Couple more questions as I been looking at your clamp choices -- I am thinking about also putting on a number plate at the same time, which I think means choosing clamps without the odometer mount... Or can the number plate still be put on even with the odometer??? I wouldn't mind keeping it since I like the maintenance reminder!

For the clutch -- do you carry the special tool that allows you to pull the basket? I'd like to pull and check for any areas which may need filing down.
Have you had anyone comment on the White Bros. clutch kit? I'd like to give that a try. Probably order all at once so there's parts for each weekend this winter. It's going into the 'teens this weekend here. Not much to do put spin wrenches in the warm garage soon! :(
thanks again Ken.

all of the triple clamps we sell use the stock R number plate. the BRP and the Applied Racing both have X kits available for mounting the odometer and the head light. you should get this accessory kit so you can run the headlight. a lot of X owners ditch the stock mechanical odo for an electronic one.

i personally run with the cycra number plate when i'm not using my headlight.

Ken thanks. I think I will lean toward the accessory kit, for fall riding, so the headlight can go back on.
Just waiting for uncle sam to let loose the piggy :P
