Id say protection next and then dial in the suspension. Suspension is far and away the best bang for the buck in my opinion

    Don't forget the skid plate!
I think my next mod will be the hot cam. I just need to decide stage 1 or 2.
I am sure there is a 500 post thread about it on here somewhere!

    Rob,
you're already on your way to turning your bike into a nice red rooster -- congrats.

My thoughts are that the Hotcam isn't going anywhere, and neither are all the other things you can put on the bike. But I went with radiator braces after I re-jetted, with more interest in not having to spend $400.00 on a replacement set, than in looking forward to how they would look on the bike, or help turn me into the next Pastrana (not). :D

A skidplate and/or engine guards are nice if you ride where logs or rocks can reek havok on your engine case. If not, they can wait. Especially if you tend to ride in more open spaces than tight trails.

I'd go for the radiator braces, then the cam after that, then skidplate, then suspension. Only reason I'd do suspension last is that you can be tweaking the stock suspension along the way to get it dialed in where you like it, then by the time you've done yoour other mods to come, you'll know more about how you want your suspension to be changed and be able to explain to the tuner what you'd like changed. I'd definately get those rads braced up though. It's worth their cost to avoid a big setback in $$ which could have funded your suspension or Hotcam, if only you had done the rad braces first!

Good luck keep us posted! It's fun hearing how guys react to the Hotcam if that's in your future. ;)

Go with the armor, it may seem expensive but its already saved me $$. For instense, while riding at Kennedy Meadows, I caught a rock on my WC engine gaurd and pushed the gaurd towards the case. With the stock gaurds my day would have been done.
