Best Mod for the Buck

So I had my Hotcam S1 installed and must agree with everyone. This is by far the best mod for the money. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for gains in the low end. It feels like a completely different bike!
In addition I had the shop install an R header he had laying around and adjusted my jetting. The bike just rips now.

Congrats!
Have you find yourself grabbing too much throttle out of turns? (muscle memory from the stock cam).
It must pull real nice after the rejet, too.

I personally thought my GPR was the best bang for the buck. I might just need to see what the hype is about this cam now..

Monkeywrench thanks man, This thing pulls strong no matter what you do. I think this settles the little voice in my head. X or R X or R Looks
X is best of both worlds.
ThumperX Do it and you wont be sorry!

Bill - glad to hear you you're enjoying the Hotcam!
It's definately a cool drop-in part.
I would normally never encourage anyone to make a change to their bike until they felt completely comfortable doing so, but my curiosity is getting the best of me with this pink-wire change. I'd be really interested to hear if you feel your X changes yet again if/when you were to try the pink wire mod.
I tried this 3 rides back, and was once again pleasantly surprised (!).
Verrry curious indeed
Congrats on the "new" ride. Enjoy it!

Matt, So many mixed reviews on the pink wire mod, but I think I'm curious to see what it dose. I will keep you posted if I do it. The mechanic at the shop that did my cam said they would not recommend it.

Especially not with the Stage1 cam. It's for low to mid. Why throw more rpm's at it? The power curve doesn't seem to be enhanced all that much, according to those that have tried it. It would be interesting on a Stage2, though.

Yup, I thought the same thing about the RPM increase -- why mess with pink wire, if all it does is raise the limiter...
But after having done the p/w mod, I am almost sure it does something else (definately feels like it changes ignition timing). There's a more agressive hit, even keeping away from the limiter. With the heavier valve springs I'm using now (from the Kibblewhite kit) it feels like the p/w mod helped get some of that hit back that I felt the bike lost from the springs. I'd be a little wary about trying the p/w mod on stock springs. Might be ok, but I'm thinking the heavy Kibble springs have a better chance fighting against valve float, should for some reason I hit the now higher limiter (maybe while revving to bring the nose up, during a jump?)
It seems a good combination for my setup. But I don't tend to wind it out as long as the guys on tv do. (you hear rev limiters quite a bit on tv!) I don't have that factory mechanic (or parts budget) just waiting for me to pack it up for the weekend so the top end can get a rebuild.
