250 X Rated! :P :P :P

Well, the new 250x with all of 2 miles on the odo, was partially stripped, upgraded and modified by the new owner!

My Girlfriend Cristy did all of the mods herself and shot me some really nasty looks when I got too close to the bike or any of the tools she was using. Let me tell you it was really hard not to be able to touch the bike and just observe Cristy having all of the fun!

She did an excellent job and I am very proud of her tenacity and mechanical ability. Not to mention she was pounding Silver Bullets as fast as I was!

She did all of the work herself with only guidance and tips from me and the occasional extra set of hands.

We started the process (drinking) @ 6:30 and were finished by about 10:45.

List of Mods
Jd Jet kit 162 main, Red needle 4th clip position, 42 pilot
Crf's Only Fuel screw 2 1/4 turns out
Twin Air with Cage and napalm Screw
Cut the top off the Air box
Yoshi slip-on
Black Unabiker Rad guards
Smog Block off Kit (smog pump removed)

Here are some pictures of before, during and after the modification process.

Here are some before pics.

Here are the parts laid out ready for install!

Cristy's airbox mod.

Cristy doing a custom job on the air pump removal! Rather than cut the wire hanger like the instructions say, she opted to cut the wire hanger away from the bracket where the two were welded together leaving a clean look and the ability to reinstall the pump easily if ever needed.

Old Dude stopped by to lend some encouragement and a badly needed Bolt!

Here is a pic of the Yoshi all bolted up!

Well here we are getting the Rad guards in place! I mean here SHE is getting them in place! ;) ;) ;)

And a pic of the bike after the mods were complete!

Took the bike for a quick test last night and again today. Wow what a difference! Great power and I noticed how smooth the whole bike feels throughout the whole powerband.

Next on the list is the Kouba lowering link, Works Bash plate, and various Works' guards!

Kev,
That thing sounded sweet blastin' up and down the street in front of my place at 11:30 PM. The wife threatened to lock me out if I went out front to talk. I was tempted but just laid there in bed and smiled. I knew you'd like the improvement. BTW Christy can come over and wrench on my bike anytime.
Has Christy ridden it yet? I come back from Reno Sunday PM. PC Monday for a shake down ride? I'll see if I can get permission
O.D.
