    Clutch manufacturer choice?

    by Monkeywrench » Wed Jan 03, 2007 4:47 pm

Hello gang, happy New Year to everyone.
Hope some of the 59° weather has spread its way around to other parts -- it's been eerily nice here in south Jersey this week! :P

Hey - on clutch replacement... I was looking into the White Brother's kit Ken sells here as a choice, due in part to just about all the parts come in the kit (plates, discs, and springs). Has anyone used the White Brother's kit? Is it not wise to change away from the stock clutch parts? Someone recommended replacing the plates and discs with all Honda parts, but definately upgrading the springs.

What to do?? (besided try and sneak a few rides in during the freaky 60° Jan. weather!!!) :o

Thanks for any advice. This will be part of my winter maint. on the bike, so figured I would ask what has worked well for everyone.

I'm preferrable to Barnett, but I don't see why you would have a problem with White Bros. stuff. Stiffer springs usually results in a heavier clutch pull. I like the stock pull (and try to do better) so I usually stick to OEM spring constants.

You can measure each one once they are out, if in spec they will work fine with the new plates.
