    carb?

    by beerhunter » Fri Dec 29, 2006 6:04 am

Where can I pick up the hex head screws for the bottom of my carb.?
I have nearly stipped the heads on the stock phillips head screws from all the MFing jetting.

    thanks for any help,

Maybe an auto parts store? NAPA auto parts? Orchard Supply Hardware?

    These are the sizes:

Idle-adjust bracket - replace stock screw with M4x10 and M4 lock washer.
Float bowl - replace four stock M4x14 screws with M4x16 screws (no one seems to stock the M4x14 in stainless) plus M4 lock washers. If you don't use lock washers, one of the M4x16s will not fit; use an M4x12 instead.

Try to get metric Stainless steel Allen head Cap screws.

The Black oxide ones are easy to find, but they might rust a bit.

Mcmaster Carr at http://mcmastercarr.com has any and every nut bolt screw of every grade material available. They ship super fast, I think once I actually got something the same day I ordered it or first thing the next morning.

Ace (Hardware) is the place I got mine. I got the rounded head ones which give you even more room to work.
