    Anyone have Big Gun

    by NCLR1 » Wed Dec 27, 2006 9:38 pm

Did a search with dismal results. I was wondering if anyone has the Big Gun Evo X? What is it like ie. sound, power, looks?

    Thanks,

Sorry. White Bros E2 here. Some 450X guys may be running it though. Try that forum if you don't get any other responses.

I think most guys out in Cali run the White Bros E2. It's a much higher quality pipe, spun can instead of thin aluminum sheet. Big Gun might be OK for track use, but won't hold up to crashes, rocks, etc.

Thanks for the info. The WB looks like it might be a good deal, I think they have a shop right down the street from my house too. Lucky me.

What's also nice is you can swap the arrestor out for track rides if you like.

    Good luck.

    Hey Kevin,

I looked on the White Bros site for some info on the E2 and it lists jetting info. They recommend keeping it stock. Did you have your exhaust on prior to jetting? I am going to be to lean? I would like to avoid jetting if possible to keep my fuel consumption as low as I can.

When I put the E2 on (with the arrestor in place) I ran stock jetting. It ran... it was summer... but it had nasty decel popping... a sign of a lean carb.

I rejetted and opened the air box ... and changed over to the Twinair powerflow filter kt all at the same time. Big difference in performance.. ease of starting.. warm up.. the whole deal.

You can certainly stay with stock jetting, but if you're going to do the WB E2, open her up and get the full benefit. It won't make it a fire breathing monster, but it be a big big difference.

In fact.. things were so good after I did all that work...I fully expected the 250X to go to the liquor store for me and pick up a 6 pack of Sam Adams. Regrettable.. I neglected to provide directions.. so I had to go myself. ;)

Mine'll do that but it keeps coming back with Pacifico's...

Your's gets Pacifico's? Wow, mine just complains about all the time I spend in the garage "playing" with my bike. Oh wait, you were talking about something else.

Thanks for the tips again. I think I will order the JD kit along with and see how it goes.

When I read the description on the E2 it stated that it had a spark arrestor and quiet core insert. Now that I am looking at the exhaust I notice that they are one piece together. I want to retain the spark arrestor but I don't really care how loud it is, is there a way to separate these two?
