I am looking to buy a new bike and I can not get a straight story from sales dept. Are the changes between '06 and '07 worth $200..? Does anyone have a review of the '07 250X that I can read? Thank you.

Yes. . .the '07 engine is even more closely related to the "R" internally for more snap. The direct relationship to the "R" includes cylinder head porting, piston and rings. Compression jumps from 12.5:1 to 12.9:1. A new ignition mapping to match along wih carb and clutch mods. You also get a cool titanium header. Oh, and a lighter front wheel hub.

She doesn't look that anymore. . .she now looks like the attached photos. She zips me around town. For the dirt, my new 450X will inherit the BRAKING rotors, and a new D.I.D. ERT GOLD and Renthal sprockets will also be installed this weekend.

East Coast Wheels (eastcoasthweels.com) has various levels on conversion. My base started with the "Warrior Kit" $1700 +/-. Then things can escalate like in my case. Carbon fiber this, carbon fiber that. . .etc. Now the damn bike looks like the Team Honda bike McGrath raced at the X-Games. All I need are the exotic Marchesini wheels (another $1700).

This all started with my not wanting to wear my knobbies out on the street, besides their very limited traction on asphalt. As a diehard motocrosser for many, many years, now turned off roader (dabbled with sportbikes too), supermoto always intrigued me. With the likes of Wardy (Same age as me!! We used to against each as kids in Southern California) and Henry, I couldn't resist to try it out. OHHHHHHHHH MAN what fun!!!!!! The most fun I've ever had on the street and track, especially "backin' it out" (sliding the back end waaay out). Just as much fun as it is on the dirt!!

I was just reading the Dirt Bike article on their "test ride" of the '07 X. Judging by the way they brag up the changes, you'd think they'd be worth a $1000 more. For 200 bones, I'd definately take the newer year. You'll get all the upgrade advantages and a higher resale.
