Here are a couple of pics of my 250X going through pre-fitment of its supermoto front wheel/brake, and fender. It's been a long term conversion.

In between pre-fitting parts and ordering parts over the past few months, I take it off roading and occassionally hitting the MX track.

I simply swap everything back and forth, wheels/brakes, plastics, etc. etc. It's good way to go through the bike to clean and inspect everything.

Maybe to lessen the weight (moment) up high. Def looks like an X though.

I was planning to convert back and forth from off road to supermoto, and visa-versa. The time to convert I don't have much of. So what GREAT excuse to go get a brand new 450X! Look carefully in the second supermoto photo. . .the new 450X is lurking in the shadows of my garage. I can't believe my wife let me get one after my money pit supermoto project. :D I'm waiting for a couple of carbon fiber tidbits to finish it.

How much trouble was it to get that plate? I've heard it's not possible in CA to get an off-road bike plated if it's new...

Yes it's true. . .nearly impossible for ANY off road bikes. Green stickered bikes that have a current plate get to keep it. Red sticked bikes with a plate are being sought after and having their plates taken away. But NO new plates will be issued to a new green sticker bike. My bike is a 2004 CRF250X, which I found locally in like-new condition. The previous owner did all the leg work to get it plated. For him, the plus was that he knew the right people in the right places to expedite the process. When I transferred ownership, no problem. . .I even got a brand spankin' new plate!! And most recently, I ordered a vanity plate "MOTARD X", again no problem.

    Hey Ceerf,
Can you tell me what mounting bracket you used for your plate. I have an 06 450x and with the tail light its a little tricky. I have looked at a couple of universal mounts that really weren't that sano. yours looks like it works pretty good.
    thanks for the help. :D

    Street Legal??

    by alex2324 » Fri Dec 29, 2006 7:16 pm

Nice bike, I want one. How hard would it be to get a plate for a 250X in Florida and what are the procedures? I want a street legal trail bike, but I dont want to go with the XL wagon.

    Thanks
