Put in something closer to a 152 main. That will be close enough to rule out jetting as the problem.

You really know your stuff. We put a 150 in it and man does it move. Way more power and way more speed.

And just as importantly the guy you had helping you has learnt something as well. That is the whole idea of our CRFs Only community to help each other and enjoy our bikes.

    That is good to hear.
These really are great bikes, but we have to undo the drivability gremlins that they were delivered with.

So, for higher altitude, like 5-6000 feet, try a 148. For 2-3000 feet, try a 150.

My altitude is around 1,400 feet so the 150 works amazingly. Topped out at 76 on gravel downhill with my brother beside me on his WR250F measuring my speed. Other than removing the spark arrester and the pink wire mod, this bike is stock performance wise.

Tops out at 75 mph (122 kmph for Kiwis)

I have a Vapor installed as a speedo, it records max speed, played around with top speed runs after I did all the mods.

Before 50% of the mods (never did stock) 72 mph
With the mods, gets there much faster.

Performance wise mine is stock other than the pink wire mod and the spark arrester being removed and I topped out at 76 downhill on gravel. Probably faster on flat pavement because no slippage.

Nice, pleased to hear it's running well for you.

All my runs are on flat gravel tracks.

Topped out at 78 on flat pavement today. Never going that fast again because my brother ran out of gas next to me and his exhaust sounded like a gunshot making me think I broke something on mine. It always had a little knock to it, but if it was actually knocking it would have manifested itself by now and the mechanic said they all do that. The "gunshot" sounded almost like rocks hitting my skidplate (it's aftermarket aluminum) or a valve train problem, that's why it scared me so much.
