Strange 250X carburetion issue

    For sure. But definitely keep an eye on that plug cap. Could be a concidence, but electrical gremlins are funny like that. Could be that after you change the plug and bent the cap around some, you may have "re-connected" the intermittent short or bad connection. Good news though!! :D

    Take the old plug to a Auto Sparky - they should be able to test it ...

    Could be a track down the centre electrode porcelain insulator - seen it a lot especially with highly leaded fuel .... will show up when tested under pressure and when the plug heats up

    Thta's great news! What did the old plug look like when you pulled it?


    The old plug didn't look abnormal other than looking old on the outside. Gap was still perfect. Could possibly be the original plug... Not sure. I just picked this 250 up from another forum member in November.

    The good news is that it is still going strong!! Ripped it around for about an hour tonight with no problems.

    Well, just to make sure, put the old plug back in and give it a go. Stay close to your wrenches! :)
