I feel so sorry for all those who lost family or had family injured yesterday. Our thoughts go out to them.:(

There's a lot of "be who you are" and "accept our differences."
I know it sounds awful but shame works

Pretty bad these guys get taken out by a psychiatrist. The very person they are supposed to go to with their fears, and uncertainties (other than the chaplains). I know the Army and us here in the Corps have our differences, but my heart goes out to those families.
We have two companies of Marines running rampant all over the northern half of this island, and three Army regiments pinned down in the southwestern corner, doing nothing. What the hell is going on?

It's my humble opinion that Political Correctness is to blame for this event in addition to the sick bastard who actually committed the act.

Many saw signs of Muslim extremism in him. But couldn't do anything because being Muslim isn't illegal.

He said to his family that he was harassed for being Muslim, that people looked at him like he was a terrorist. They didn't trust him.

Was it a self fulfilling prophecy? Did the fear of others drive him to this? Or was the fear of others based on reality because they knew he was capable of this?

I was talking around the camp fire Saturday night with a few guys recently out of the service.

They all had no answer as to why something like that happened. Only that some guys "snap' , some don't.

All were obviously upset about it so we changed the topic. I invited them all over to the house this Wednesday night for some BBQ.

Say "Thanks" to a vet when you see one......and you don't have to wait for the holiday either. ;)

    Saw this elsewhere.

Hasan Linked to Sept. 11 Hijackers

    Sunday, November 8, 2009 1:19 PM

"Nidal Malik Hasan, the Army major suspected of killing 13 people and wounding 29 others at Fort Hood, worshipped at the same mosque as two of the 9/11 terrorists.

According to the London Sunday Telegraph, Hasan attended services at the Dar al-Hijrah mosque in Great Falls, Va., in 2001 at the same time as Sept. 11 hijackers Nawaf al-Hamzi and Hani Hanjour. Funeral services for Hasan's mother also was held at that mosque.

The FBI wants to interrogate Hasan to see if he met or knew al-Hamzi or Hanjour, reports the Telegraph.

The imam at the mosque at the time Hasan attended services there was Anwar al-Awlaki, a radical cleric who has been described as a supporter of al-Qaida. A third 9/11 hijacker attended al-Awlaki's lectures in California."

Amidst the horror of this shooting, there is a lesser tragedy as well. Look at how it's being handled. Our fearful leader knew of the shootings while chit-chating with some african president, and he did nothing, he went to the tribal counsel meeting, and did nothing, he got up to open his pie-hole, and after two to three minutes of blabber, he really for the most part said nothing about it. Its now Monday, and the senators from Texas, the Gov. of Texas, and Ex-President Bush all have visited the base and the wounded. Where the hell is these soldiers C-in-C. To damn busy pushing health care we don't need. My goodness how could he be worry over a bunch of wounded soldiers, the families of the fallen?!

And on top of that, look at this: U.S. Homeland Security secretary Janet Napolitano had this to say in response: http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/...Jh8owD9BR9GPG0

To all those who have served or are serving thank you. Image
