Don't feel bad, I got the same issue. And then when I get home, I'm like "OK, what message board was that youtube video on that I wanted to watch?" It's hell gettin' old. :x

It's not my memory, it's my time. I have 3 little ones (ages 5, 3, & 1). The minute I walk in the door till 9-10pm is consumed by "_____". By the time I make dinner, clean up dinner, give them some time, honey-do items, etc, etc....I don't feel like staring at a computer screen. 10pm rolls around I usually only have enough energy to beg for some nookie then go to sleep.

Beg for the nookie, don't get it, get pissed off, wide awake now, go surf the net looking for that damn youtube riding video but can't recall where it was.

That's me; I should have been more clear.

Standing, I was told, puts the weight down on the pegs instead of the seat... I think the seat is higher. Am I missing something? That is the argument DB magazine used anyway.

I'm with woodsman on this one, im pretty sure that standing lowers your center of gravity because it puts your body weight on the pegs rather than higher up on the seat.

If the system is sprung, the weight is already accounted for by the springs.

Vertical center of gravity (CG) is not so important when turning. It is when jumping. It's all about relativity and torque. Standing puts your weight on the pegs (outside the centerline of the bike). When you weight the pegs, you can apply torque. When turning, you weight the outside peg and put your buttcrack (or not if standing) on the outside edge of the seat. Somewhere in between those opposing forces is a balance point

Standing up while jumping moves your weight forward and provides the rider with a better control of the CG.

Short answer: It will help you turn and jump. Weight the pegs.

Okay...lessons learned from this thread that are sure to improve my performance:

    - When begging for nookie, do it standing up
    - When turned down for nookie, weight the left hand by stabilizing the right during "self nookie-ing" (this maintains the perfect CG)
    - During "self nookie-ing," rev the snot out of it
    - Watch the "roost" (it can be pretty messy)

Thanks for the tips guys! I think my times are really going to improve!
