on the valves...racerX is saying it is a four-valve valvetrain yet honda's website clearly states the Expert version has two valves. i'll go with honda's website for now.

I also heard that they are using steel valves in it...excellent...

if the valves are strong, then the only concern i'd have putting my son on one would be how easy/hard it is to start...

Sweet!! finally a bike I might be able to get my GF on...On the valves, the honda web site says the CRF150R has the Unicam 4-valve head, and the Expert version is the "Same bike, but with bigger wheels, a slightly higher seat and longer swingarm designed to accommodate taller young riders" no mention of valves, so i"m willing to bet the 2-valve in the specs is a typo. but then again it could be a typo on the description of the 150R regular also....

my guess is it's a 4 valve configuration since it's a unicam trademarked bike. i'm going with this until i hear otherwise.

yes, stainless steel valves is a good thing. i'm stoked about this new crf. should really shake things up in the mini class...if the AMA increases the 4-stroke displacement rule to allow it.

my guess is similar to current water-cooled crfs. clean oil, clean air filter, valves in spec, run the heck out of it.

This new bike is so hot! You have to wonder what took them so long.

Here's a link to the RacerX write up.

That was a cool video, but why did they have that crappy song playing over the sound of the new CRF 150r motor? I would love to have been able to hear that new motor ripping around the track.

It looks like a blast. We'll definitely have to take a gander at one when they show up here.

I'm surprised that none of the chinese companies who make rippin' 125 or 140cc CRF 50 knock-off pit bikes have taken the next logical step and used 17" and 14" wheels with an 85cc bike size lay-out. I've seen first hand some really fast cheap pit bikes. A guy last week had a cool bike that looked like he had dumped $$$ into, but claimed that he bought it like that for $1,800. He was a big heavy guy, and the bike sounded "mean" as it tore him around the arenacross track.
