Picked up a used CRF150R. Was never raced, only used for trail riding which will be the same application for my son.
I know the owners manual calls for engine oil/filter and transmission oil change every 6 races or 15 hours but the previous owner said he changed engine oil every 6 hours and transmission oil every 12 hours using Honda GN4 oil in both sides. I can't remeber if he changed the oil filter every oil change or every 2nd oil change.

I'd like to keep a similar schedule and am planning the following:
- Engine oil change every 6 hours
- Engine oil filter change every 12 hours (every 2nd oil change)
- Transmissin oil every 12 hours

I'm planning to use HI-FLOW HF116 filters as they are 1/2 the price of a Honda filter and seem to have good reviews.

Anybody have any input?

Oil has always been cheaper than engine parts, so whatever change interval works for you should work great. Just keep an eye out for any particles of shiney stuff to give the indication before something does get too worn. Can't comment on the filter.
