2012 CRF 150 RB bogging off idle.

    by jcass29 » Thu Apr 10, 2014 7:09 pm

Hey everyone my sons 2012 150 has a bog if you jump on the throttle to quick off Idle. I have cleaned the carburetor, diaphragm is not damaged, filter is clean. It just started having this issue last weekend. If anyone has had this issue or might be able to point me in the right direction id appreciate it. The bike starts fine idles fine but if you grab a handful of throttle quick it bogs and sometimes quits running, but you can roll on the throttle and its fine.

if you are running stock jetting switch to the JD Jetting kit:

install per the instructions. check your AP diaphragm and make sure it is not breaking apart. check for long and strong AP squirt.

    report back.

I installed a 45 pilot/slow jet and a 60 leak jet. I think the ap nozzle has debris in it. I can squirt cleaner through it and it works but the stream isn't as strong as I think it should be. Does anyone have a way to clean it without breaking the carburetor apart.

compressed air is the only hope really unless you separate the mid body.

I heard taking the mid body apart there is glue in there. Where would you get the glue to reassemble it so it seals correctly? Anyone do this before?

there's also a mid body gasket and i do not have a source for this mid body gasket. even if you had the gasket it is difficult to pull it apart and get it back together.

Thanks for your replies I appreciate it. I was at my local honda dealer delivering a bike and the service manager said drop off the carb and the would put it in a acid bath for 20 mins and that should clear any obstruction. I don't know when I'll get to it because I'm super busy this week and my boys racing the bike is weekend so I'll let you know if it works sometime next week.
