The guy doesn't know much about the bike but he does know there has been work done to it . Ported and polished the head and some other engine work . http://harrisburg.craigslist.org/sno/4235677579.html[/img]

just no way for us to know if it's worth that much. he doesn't specify the aftermarket parts. no way to know how many engine hours on the motor or how hard those hours were. no way to know what kind of damage if any there is to the frame, wheels, or suspension. you'll have to get answer to these and other questions to determine if it's a good value.

race bikes are often abused. some are well maintained during the abuse and others are not. most will keep the top end fresh but few do anything to the bottom end. often they sell them when they either know or expect expensive repairs are around the next turn. typically i recommend finding a used bike that was not a race bike.

We purchased a CR85 a few years back. The kid raced, and was sponsored AND maintained by a local shop. The bike was in excellent shape. It was being sold because the kid moved up to lites.

Personally, I have no problem buying from a dedicate racer, however the occasional racer scares me a bit.

$1,500 for an '09 150RB in my state is average (people ask for a lot more than they get). The photos are horrible. Is the frame powder coated or spray painted (spray paint is bad)? What wheel set is on the bike? Also, are the triple clamps aftermarket, anodized, or painted (painted is bad, anodized if not done properly could weaken the tree)?

Something you may want to consider is checking dealers for left over bikes. You may find 3-4 year old NEW 150RB for $3k or so.
