Hi, my engine let go last weekend and it sounds like the crank. When I kick it over its making horrible knocking noises. My question is has anybody replaced their crank. Are any special tools/procedures required to get the old one out and put the new one in? Any advice greatly appreciated. I am going to start tearing it down this evening, just want to be prepared.

my not be the crank. do you have any metal in your oil filter? if so, what color is it? best to start with removing the head, cylinder and inspecting. get the service manual and it will outline the process and tools needed.
