    bought daughter a 150r

    by dav2000 » Wed Jun 29, 2011 4:43 pm

Found a nice used 08 150r for trail riding here in PA the bike is a blast for me but she tends to lug the bike on slow tricky stuff close to stalling it, i'm thinking larger rear sprocket or heavy flywheel i know its not sold as a trail bike but it can be made somewhat trail friendly.

    Any suggestions would be helpful.

David...congrats to your daughter. it's a great bike. the things you mentioned will help. another option, albeit more expensive one, is the Rekluse z-Start Pro clutch. this will eliminate the need for her to be concerned with clutching. then she can focus on line choice, throttle control and balance. the "fun factor" will increase significantly.

    David,
We added the Steahly 9oz FWW to my son's 08 150R along with some Moose Bark Busters and we have been really pleased with the results. Here is the link for the FWW on this site:

Tell her to use the clutch.

+1. Did flywheel weight and sprocket on my sons bike which are a must for making the 150R trail worthy, but the Rekluse really made the difference when it comes to both of use having a good time (happy kid on the trail=happy parent).
