    Purchased a 2009 150r Expert...what next?

    by DC-MOTO » Tue May 03, 2011 11:01 am

I picked up a 2009 150r Expert last fall and haven't had the time or money to mess with it until now. Just finished taking the class "Cornerspin" www.cornerspin.com and would love to setup this bike as a dual duty bike (Dirtbike/supermoto bike)

I'm not your typical 150r rider. I'm about 245lbs 6'0 tall and wanting to know what all I need to do to my bike. I know I need to get the rear done and the forks done to work with my weight what else should I do to the bike?

I will post up pics of it in its current condition.

    welcome to the site!

i gotta ask, at your size why the 150RB? at 6' and 245lbs. this bike is definitely too small for you. are you hoping to be competitive with this bike?

that said, suspension work is a must. supermoto and dirt have completely different requirements so you won't be able to have one suspension that works best for both.

power will be an issue for you so you'll need to do all you can to increase power everywhere. a big bore kit, cam, intake mods and exhaust.

egos, adult 150r bar, triple clamp with higher bar mounts, tall seat foam and cover, fastway pegs in the low boy position.

check out our 150R section as we have all of these products.

Not looking to compete with this bike. Just plan on using it for training for road racing and occasionally taking it trail riding/dirt bike riding and once in a while use trial tires and race indoors.

What size BBR springs should I get for the front? What size BBR rear shock spring do I need?

What type of exhaust gives the most power for these bikes?

BBR only has one spring rate for each.

for more power, a big bore kit will provide the bigest gains. if you're not interested in a big bore kit then open up the intake and get the DRD exhaust.
