    timing chain tensioner issues

    by riddler9 » Sat Oct 30, 2010 8:27 pm

has anyone had luck using the the stock timing chain tensioner to hold the chain? can't seem to get the chain to lock up, so we ended up holding the crank to loosen/tighten the timing gear bolts.

any experience/tips would be greatly appreciated.

Chain tensioner will NOT hold the chain.

Use the 8mm Allen on the right side plug...(primary bolt)

Well that explains it! We have been using the bolt you mentioned, but for some dumb reason I thought the tensioner was supposed to hold it. Thanks for the info.
