Is it just me or is it very hard to put transmission oil in these bike. Does anybody else have this problem? I poured as slow as I could and it still came back out of the hole and onto the floor. What type of oil can you run for the engine oil the Honda brand I bought is $9.00 a qt and I like to change the oil every week so if there is another brand I can use to keep the cost down a little.

It is the same on 250 and 450 also... I lean the bike over a little while filling, makes no mess!

And just about any good trans oil will cost you about $9 a quart, at least that is what i have seen.

Bel-Ray Thumper oil in the crankcase, Bel-Ray 80wt Gearsaver in the tranny.

We run HP4 in the engine and the tranny. We find it easier to put the tranny oil in using one of those screw on spouts that stick up about 3 or 4 inches. It fits in the hole nicely. We were also recommended to use the Honda 80w gear lube in the red bottle in the tranny, anyway you go its expensive.
