Hi what a great fourm this is,i have just got my son a crf150r 07,the problem i have is that it wont idle, unless on choke, and when i shut off the throtle,it takes a while to go back to idle, would the valve clearance affect this, because ive all ready cleaned the carb, and all cables are free, any help on this matter would be great, thankyou for your time. JAMES
Read every entry on the board about the 150R. There is a lot of info here about problems and how to fix them. My pilot jet was clogged when I got mine. The filter on the petcock is adequate, I don't know how the pilot jet collects so much debris. The jetting is really very easy to change. Oh and make sure to do the AP mod. Even my tech at the local dealer said they do it to most every bike that comes in for service. It is very simple after following the directions and pics here on the CRFs only message boards.
i had the same probelm with my 150r.we tried everything to fix it.but we just brought it to the dealer.the problem was thefuel scerw was not at the right setting.we thought we had adjusted the fuel screw but it was really the idle setting the fuel screw actually fell out but the dealer fixed everything.
I turned my idle down a little to get rid of the hanging idle and did the o-ring mod to get rid of the bog. I have not really had anymore problems since then, but I do adjust the fuel screw and idle if there is a temperature change.
Thankyou to everyone for there help on this matter,i cleaned the carb out again, then played with the fuel screw, and did the AP mod, totally a differant bike know, very pleased, thankyou again.
