    by DanielJ » Thu Mar 20, 2008 1:15 pm

Im 19 and just got a crf150r a month ago for my first bike, i dont plan on racing any time soon, just riding around with friends and my dad. How should i go about moding the bike mainly for power but other mods as well.

If it's a 150R then it needs no mods. They are a race bike unto themselves.

The 150R needs the AP mod and the JD jetting kit.

They have jetting issues out of the box.

the motor responds well to the jd jetting kit and the ap mod as well as freeing up the intake and exhaust. also, depending on your weight suspension work will be needed. if you ride fast then a stabilizer will help you go faster safer.

How about a cam and a silencer? You don't have to follow your buddy's every word you know... He doesn't know everything, does he? Don't go for the titanium valves unless you like spending more money than you need to.

If it sounds like a 250, that only means that it is loud. Which is bad for the sport. Having titanium valves will allow the engine to rev slightly quicker, so there aren't really any positive gains besides that.

If hes competing at that level, he probably has quite a few sponsors that give him parts for a big discount or free. His family might also live for supermoto, which would allow them to spend a LOT of money on bikes. Do the AP mod and SUSPENSION.

P.s. You didn't say he was winning the nationals...

i said it sound like a 250, not that it is as loud as one it is only 100 db. his sponsers only give im disscont parts he is not factory sponsered yet. i am getting the fealing like you are purposly pocking at every thing i say trying to find resons not to get it. there is no perfect fx all mod you can do to a bike i am just listing a couple that have worked for my freinds...

P.S. its just a message bored not every body will agree with each other its reality

Accelerator Pump mod. It reduces or eliminates space on the accelerator pump linkage to cure bog and hesitiation when hitting the throttle quickly.
