Have you guys done the White Bros carb kit???

The size of that carb is so big, it floods easily.

When we bought our crf150r it would barely start. it had been sitting in the dealership and only started a few times I guess. I don't think it had ever been rode any.

It was nearly impossible to start it. In fact, before we bought it they had to take it back to the shop to see what was going on. They finally got it started and we took it home. They told us they cleaned the carb and changed the spark plug.

The next day we took it to ride and had problems starting it every single time. So we took it back to them.

Come to find out they DIDN'T clean the carb like they said. So they got that done and now it starts usually on the 1st kick. It doesn't take hard kicks either.

Also they said to be sure to not give it throttle when you start it, as it can flood it.

But the only problem was a gummed up carb from the gas sitting in it and not being used. Have had no problems since and we've rode it many times since then.

AS do you know if new jets would do the job over spending $100 for that kit?

both the white bros kit and the jd jetting kit fix the jetting and make starting very easy as well as address bog. the white brothers kit is jetting and ap mod and the jd kit is jetting, ap mod, and of course customer tapered needles. i recommend the jd jetting kit and freeing up the intake by eliminating the backfire screen at a minumum.

Give it 2 blips of the throttle and it will start in 3 kicks. If you can smell gas, get off the bike, turn the fuel off, and tip the bike so it is almost horizontal to the ground. You will see some gas running out of the over flow tubes which is a good thing. Then try starting it again (turn the fuel valve on!) and it should start.

I'm having a starting problem, but a little different...

Impossible to start when cold but you can start it with your hand (after you get past the "clank" of the compression release) when its hot....... I literally started it with my hand yesterday......when hot w/o using the hot start.

Any ideas?
