First off, just so you know, I have never seen a 150R let alone worked on one, but what your describing sounds like a jetting/idle problem to me. Most of these bike need jetting work right out of the factory (even the racers.)
When you checked your plug, what did it look like?
- Really dark/sooty/wet? (too rich)
- Milk chocolate brown? (okay)
- Very dry or even white-ish on the electrode? (too lean)
If the 150R is anything like the 250R/450R, your stalling in corners could be just the nature of the beast. Turn up your idle and make sure your clutch lever is adjusted well...that should help (assuming there are no other problems.)
Can't help you with you "height" question, but if you're comfortable on the bike, it feels good to you as you sit/ride it, and the bike has the power/suspension to haul your butt around just fine, I wouldn't worry about it too much. Heck, look at the pro MX-ers like RC, Bubba, etc. Those guys are leprechauns and they're riding 450s. It's all about what feels right to you and your skill level. Try sitting on some 250s/450s just to see the difference. That'll be a bigger help to you than anyone's "advice" on height issues.
Hope you get it figured out and good luck with the race!
