Hi all, Reply to original topic 150R top speed. I was riding my nephews 150 on terrain of shallow sand with a GPS mounted on it. I weigh 160 lbs and hit a top speed of 55 mph. I'm sure I could have hit 60 mph on pavement, my 2 cents.

I've recently installed a trailtech on mine... I'll get the real answer.

My son and his friend were both asking the same question and estimated they were hitting 65+ mph. I got my car GPS, reset the MAX SPEED, put it in their pocket and sent them down a long, fairly smooth dirt straightaway.

My son's small wheel 150r is bone stock except for a JD jet kit and a less restrictive end-cap.

His friend's large wheel 150RB bike was purchased used from a motocrosser and has a lot of suspension upgrades, but I get inconsistent answers when I ask him about motor upgrades on his bike. His gearing is stock.

Both boys were able to hit around 50 mph on this straightaway. Both got into top gear and were pretty well wound out before having to shut down for the end of the straight. There might have been a few more MPH available to them with perfect conditions, but not much.

I was able to reach 53 mph on my stock 250x.

So if a GPS is accurate on a 15 second run, then those are the numbers we achieved in case anyone is interested...

Nice calculator. I didn't know about it. It shows the 150r topping out @ 59.7 and 150rb topping out @ 58.4 with stock gearing and without environmental factors.

Given the terrain we were on, wind resistance and rider inputs I guess the GPS was right on. The maximum speed number on the GPS was repeatable and we got numbers between 48 and 51 mph over several runs. Everyone that made a run was sitting upright on the bike and not crouched down which would have made a difference as well.

The best part of this is knowing my 13 y/o is NOT going 65+ mph when he's off riding with his friend... :)
