Ha! Grady - I tried riding in the snow recently. It was wet heavy spring melt glop about 10 or 12 inches deep, and took me a half hour to paddle push my bike around a loop the size of my house. My legs ached after that one! White roost is no fun.

Backon2, I grew up near Mt. Baker and could see the Whistler lights from my window at night. Pretty country up there. As for Oregon snow, Portland proper doesn't get too much, maybe a good brief dump or two every winter, but the foothills are a whole different story.

Don't forget about the jetting. Honestly, the 150 barely starts as it comes from the factory, but jetting it correctly will save you a lot of leg. Good luck :D

Thanks for the tip Barb, I can tell already that you know what you're talking about. :) My Brother is the jetting king and he'll be here this weekend...he likes to take apart his RZ500 everyother season just to rebuild stuff. He rides a Husky 4 stroke as well, so he is very familiar with this thumper stuff...me I'm more used to the 2 strokes, but I'll figure it out.

AH! another one convinced! Na, if I really knew, I'd have my own bike jetted correctly by now

I did briefly have a 150 that wore my leg out, it's how I found this site, looking for help. Just thought I wasn't "man" enought to start it; turns out it wasn't ME. I do know that once the jetting is spot on, you are gonna LOVE your new ride, cold weather or not.

I love white roost! You can drift like you know what you're doing!
