    welcome to the site.

i'm confused, if you are waiting for the road plate and sticker to arrive in the mail doesn't that mean it's already registered for street use?

also, what crf model and year do you have?

No big deal at all. Go into MVD and tell them you want to register it mostly offroad with a MC plate. You will have to have insurance and the mod's you have already done. They will have you sign a document stating that you have done the street legal mods. Your good to go.
You will not have to take the bike in for inspection. No emissions since it is a 2009.
No problem - easy deal. I have the ATV's & CRF450X with MC / street plates.

    Good luck & report back.

You must have head light, taillight, brake light. Technically you supposed to have low & high beams. I have not heard of anyone ever having that inforced.

you need to go to DMV and tell them you want to add the "limited road use" sticker to your OHV tag. If they don't know what your talking about, which most of them don't, they will try to tell you it needs inspection and $90yr tags, not true, once you have the OHV tags, you can add a limited road use status and pay a $4 tax, yup, only $4, and they will give you a MC plate and tags. if you're older than 5 yrs you do have to pass emmissiions, but other than that, you need insurance, brake light, one mirror, headlight and a horn to be legal in AZ. PM me if you have any ?s, I've helped many through this process

You also need a license plate light when riding in twilight or darker conditions. I did have a friend who got a warning for riding at night without the license plate light.

It is VERY easy to get plates in AZ :D My last year's registration was $29, which includes the OHV tag. There are only a few spots which are state trust land in AZ and require another permit to ride.

Yes Sir, Mr. BH is right ! You are required to have a plate light also. Many times the taillight is bright enough to take care of that requirement.

Notice, it doesn't say anything about DOT legal tires :D

According to an officer on our Ridingarizona.com site DOT tires are not a requirement. Lot's of discussion on the site about street legal status if you want to check it out.

Great site for anyone in or visiting Arizona.
