A buddy of mine's son (my old neighbors in Arrowhead) had his bike impounded for riding some trails we used to ride before they put in the "designated trail system" in the mid '80's. As far as outrunning them, the USFS used to have a ranger whose sole job was to patrol the trails. He lived in that old station on 189 and rode everyday ... he knew the trails and was a very good rider. I think the program was discontinued a long time ago, but I sure wouldn't put money on outrunning who ever they currently have patrolling (if they even do, I haven't seen anyone on bikes patrolling up there in years).

Kind of a related question ... I have a couple of green stickers I never use (one from building my daughter's DMC 120 out of 2 bikes and one from my son's CR125) ... what is to stop me from putting one of them on my red stickered 300? I have NEVER had my sticker "called in" for legitimacy ... has anyone else out there?

If you want to put a green sticker on a red sticker bike its called REGISTRATION FRAUD and can carry a $1200 fine. Any Ranger knows to look for a 3 or C in the eight digit when they see a green sticker on a 2T.
