That's cool. I have packed in desert riding until it gets cooler. We are going to Silverwood/Cleghorn/Arrowhead area on Sunday. It's still pretty cool in the AM and not very crowded.

Me and a couple of friends were up at Crab Flats on Sunday. Rode from Crab Flats to Devils Hole, up and around to Big Pine Flat and back down to Crab Flats. Weather was around 77 degrees and crowds were real light. Great ride.

Where did you guys stage at? We have a staging area, but I don't like it and it doesn't meet up with a lot of the good trails.

We staged at Crab Flats. You go up the front side of Big Bear until you get to the Green Valley cutoff right out of Running Springs and hang the left. Do you have the map for the riding area?

I have not staged at Crab Flats or Pinnacles yet. We have ridden here a couple of times and have always staged off the 138 a couple of miles after you get off the 15. Also, we have only ridden the trail that is on the far left of Silverwood Lake. It is not very long and we want to get to the other side this time.

Oh yeah, do you know if you need an Adventure Pass to stage at Crab Flats and or Pinnacles??? If so, can you get one there or where is the closest place to get one? Thanks again.

I know you need one at Crab Flats. I picked up the annual pass for $30 which covers San Bernardino, Los Padres, Angeles Crest and maybe one more. It's good until the last day of the month that you bought it in the following year. Mines good until the end of June 2008. The day pass is $5. I picked mine up at Sports Chalet.

Once you are on the road towards Green Valley, its about 4-5 miles before you make the left on the dirt road to go towards Crab Flats. From their, it's also about 5 miles down the dirt road to the campground. You don't have to stay in the campground, there are other areas to park
