Has anyone had a problem of the brakes not grabbing? The piston is coming out but it seams not to have enough pressure to stop the wheel from rolling, I have checked and cleaned the pads, all seams OK.

CRF250L, the brakes are just week.

Thanks for the welcome. This is a CRF250L, it stops but the brakes are just week. I just put Kenda 760 on it and I dont think changing the tire should effect it or could it?

No it should not affect it ........Is it possible that you accidentally got the rotor on the back side of the brake pad ?? , since there are 2 pads , and the rotor goes between , you could have accidentally pushed one of the pads over to the other one and have the rotor in between the caliper and the backside of the pad ...... If you had good brakes before , then it is highly unlikely something just went bad , so I am guessing you inadvertently misaligned something , and that is the issue ...

The brakes did work fine before the tire change correct ???

You might also want to check the fluid and make sure it is full , worst comes to worse , if the rotor is not on the back side of the pad , your next best option would be to bleed the brakes , just make sure to keep adding fluid to keep it up to the top and not let it run dry and get air in the line and see if the pedal firms up that way ..... Hope that helps .....

Is the tyre a larger diameter?
If so there is greater leverage and therefore harder to stop.
Did it stop OK before the tyre swap?

I think the bike stoped fine before the tire change, I haven't rode it for about 8 months and I have 3 other bikes I ride so being 65 years old I forget things.
After I changed the tire I took the bike for a test ride, I noticed the brakes did not grab well so I cleaned the rotor then sprayed brake clean all over everything, still didn't grip. Step 2, bleed brakes but still not grabbing so I put on new pads, still not grabbing. I have ordered a caliper rebuild kit hoping that will help. The pedal only goes down about 3/4 of a inch but the brakes will not lock up.

Not sure what it could be ..... It sounds like you replaced what could be issues , are you sure you bled the brakes correctly ?? , sometimes you need a vacuum bleeder to get all the air out , if its stuck in the caliper ...

One of these , is what I use anytime I am bleeding the brakes ...

With the KTM we force the fluid into the calliper and drain the master cylinder.
The bubbles float to the top that way.
Need a big syringe sometimes.

Still seems strange that it is not braking as good as before even with eliminating some of the typical causes.
Can the brake stop the wheel spinning whilst it is up on a stand?
Is it the front or rear that is giving concern?
