    Doug, did you weigh your carbon yosh? Yes, just a couple pounds up high can make a huge (feel ) difference. I think DB done a pipe shootout not too long ago, and they weighed all contectants. I will try to get the mag. The fuidynes are a great idea, get them! I can store the stock ones in my garage for you Ken! OFG

    I have a full Yosh TRS Titanium system I can weigh but it is for the 250x. Athough I still think a stock muffler would be impressive to the mags and readers.

    The stage 2 cam took what the motor already does and made it stronger. It reeves a little quicker but the power gains were very linear. In simplest terms, it felt like I was riding a 600cc motor.

    The f.....g weather is still bitter, 14 degrees right now, so just the run around the block yesterday which has really got me bummin'.
    What Nowazzu wrote is why I went with this cam. Doug

    I saw someone post earlier "function over beauty". This meshes with my line of thought (not that I don't get a kick out of the bling wars :-) My list in order of importance:
    * Suspension (I like Pro Circuit, but others are great as well)
    * Scotts Stabalizer
    * Pro Taper bars
    * Flatland radiator guards
    * Skid plate
    * Barkbusters (one type or another)
    * Rear Disk/brake protection (Scotts rear disc guard, , Works connection rear brake guards
    * Rekluse (agree with the post about not utilizing the hand brake although I would like one)
    * IMS 3.2 tank
    * Tires (I'm currently running Maxis IT's ??)
    * Oversized clutch cover (SFB, Rekluse, ?)
    * Aftermarket exhaust (with quiet insert)
    * Wider pegs
    * Licence plate (minus equipment initially needed to obtain)

    EDIT - never did follow directions real well, just saw the different topics for motor, suspension, etc .... whoops

    I found the DR book, it is an 03 book. There are some light pipes. White Bros carbon pro 4 pounds 5 ounces. FMF TI 4 pounds 9 ounces. I am sure we can find a queit pipe and save at least 3 or 4 pounds. OFG

    This is my first input in this very cool project/contest.
    DR mag has been pretty vocal about the noise issue. IMO make the bike perform but making the bike quiet at the same time will impress the heck out 'em.
    If not the stock exhaust,then a good tradeoff between quiet and performance.

    Just my 2 cents.

    That sounds beastly. Almost too beastly. And out of the norm.

    I think we should stick with the stock engine bore to really show what the motor Honda gave us in the 450X can do, because it really is a strong motor.

    i'm not hearing a lot of requests to go with a big bore...i think is something to consider but i would likely suggest rpm's kit as it's well known and they are local to us.

    There has been a lot of talk about showing what this bike is capable of. While a big bore kit would make a monster it would also loose all ties to the "Stock" form and we would give up showing how great the Honda CRF450X is. but if you all like the big bire thing I would happily go along.
