As I push the 200lb mark I tend to cringe at stepping on the scale. I weighed in at 203 at the beginning of February, and Monday (March 3), I weighed in at 197 without much diet/exercise. Starting TODAY, I really want to get back down to 180lbs and be fit! I must get rid of my mid section that I have gained since high school... I'll be posting a before picture in the next few days to give an idea where i'm starting at. I figure if I put this on a public message board, i'll continue to work hard on my goal and accomplish this task within a few months. :D

Thanks baja! I just got back from a 4 mile bike ride with a good mile or two pretty good grade. I'm really going to focus on eating better as I eat out way too often. I'm also mainly focusing on my cardio for a few weeks to see how much weight I can drop and then start hitting the gym shortly after that. FOCUS!

wow! after reading you post it made me feel like i've been neglecting my fitness. i have not jogged once this year. and only have been to kickboxing classes about 4 times this year, not good. so i said "i'm goanna hit the streets"i went jogging. felt pretty good not as fast as i was but pulled of 3 miles in about 30 minutes.
i guess riding every weekend and a couple of 3 day trips to glamis is excersize.

Today I ran approximately 2 miles, but I had to stop a few times from cramping in my sides. I felt real good besides that, just need to drink more water! Here is a picture from last summer on our Ensenada cruise just to give you an idea were i'm starting from, not a real good picture, but just one that I cringe to.

Keep it up! I there with ya! I know I have needed to shed some #'s for many years. Our work has a little "Biggest Loser" competition going on. Since my worst enemy is self-motivation, I thought joining a team would make me "accountable." It's worked so far.

I LOVE to eat. I don't eat out a whole bunch, but what I do eat, I eat to excess. I'm a chronic overeater. I'm full, but I keep eating because I like the taste of the food.

Anyway, we started this little competition two weeks ago. By drinking only non-additive juices, water, and the occasional glass of milk, running again (which I did for years and loved,) starting out slow with some of the basic calisthenics, I've droped 10lbs. It ain't much (and I have about 20 more to go for my goal) but it's a start.

I feel your pain. Just keep in mind when you are dying, sweating, and otherwise cursing yourself during the workout...nedirtbikr is probably doing the same thing.

Congrats on making the change in your life. I'm not gutsy enough to post a before and after pic. Good for you!
