Someone already said it, but the P90X program is great. More than half the guys at my fire house (over weight) started it, they followed it and the results are amazing.
Now like any workout program, you get out of it what you put into it.
So I suggest get into the program or any program and then keep up your saddle time on the bike. Race ready fitness has to be done on the bike too.

As previously mentioned, for workouts, check out Crossfit.com or for something almost as good, P90X (both are excellent).

For nutrition, eat real food, not processed junk. If it has a nutrition label and a wrapper on it, it probably isn't food (ironic). You want to feed your lean body mass and nothing else. Cut out the sugar (yes, all of it). Limit your carbs, especially grains (yes, all of 'em). (It feels like detox at first :?) Get your carbs from fresh veggies and fruit.

I've lost 37 lbs since January this year mainly by changing what I ate and following the Primal Blueprint plan outlined at www.marksdailyapple.com. I am 5'10" was 240 lbs at New Years, I am 203 today, and losing a steady ~2 lbs of fat per week. I just turned 40 and feel better now than I did at 30.

Try the Mens Health Belly Off plan, it's free and very helpful with workouts and meal plans.

I'm the type of person that gets bored easy. I've done P90X, which i love, and also regularly read mens health just for new ideas on workouts and meals.

Crossfit seems to be something that would fit my "style" perfect!! New workouts everyday and they aren't the same ole crap you always see!

I didnt see anyone mention this, but Insanity is a great workout. Its by Beachbody, which is who does P90x. You dont need anything except you for Insanity. And its a 60 day program. It is extremely difficult though.
