sup guys? i've been doing a 45 min. kickboxing class for about 6 weeks 3-4 times a week.today i went to elsinore mx and rode longer than ever with out getting arm pump . i used to get pumped up in about 2 laps.and was able to not get winded or tired . i rode for about 30 min straight @ better than avg. speed ,took a 10min break to drink some poweraid got back on the track went for about 45 min before i ate a plate of s@#$ casing a jump then i went home. i wasn't even tired i just bruised my cankle so i left. i highly recommend a kickboxing class to get your cardio in check.
but the kickboxing is way harder than riding

thats awesome! kickboxing sounds like it will do a lot of good. sooner or later people will get the picture that they need to actually work out so that they don't get tired so fast for mx, lets face it the one a week ride on saturdays at glen helen, elsinore, race town, or competative edge just isn't going to cut it. Thanks for saying it! get cardio up and in check.

I go to BOXING 3 times a week for a hour and a half, I am out on the track about 3-4 times a week, and I work out about 5 days a week. It gets a little old but come to race days I can go twice as long and hard than when I just practiced out on the track. I WAY RECOMEND BOXING or KICK BOXING!!!-HcMXgirl

I never get arm pump. I haven't been working out lately, but for the first 2 months of summer (June and July) I would swim for 2.5 hours a day/4-5 days a week, about 6 miles a practice. Might sound a little lame, but swimming is super hard. I swim for 2 hours a night 5 times a week usually in the winter (october-march). Since motocross is such a high impact sport, swimming kinda makes up for it. Since I swim on a team year round, we do body core afterwards for about 45 min, and thats about 1250 crunches or some kind of ab work, along with variations of squats and dips. For all you guys wanting to get in good shape, kick boxing and boxing are very good, along with swimming, core exercises, and free weight training. Don't do very many exercises on a machine; you don't have a backrest when your on a dirtbike, do you?

Because your kids. Duhh
I took 25 years off and just started riding again.I'm 42 and since I started riding again have lost 40 lbs and work out on the trainer 4 times a week after the kids go to bed. Now I don't get arm pump and can ride for hours on the trails. Wait until your and older rider, have a job and kids and life gets in the way of working out. When I was a kids with none of the above I worked out 7 days a week for 2-3 hours. Now I can hardly sleep that much. lol.
